Abstract

Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit metabolik kronis dengan prevalensi yang terus meningkat dan menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat. Kasus DM di Kota Kediri juga menunjukkan peningkatan sehingga diperlukan upaya promotif dan preventif berbasis masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya lokal. Moringa oleifera (daun kelor) mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif, vitamin, mineral, dan antioksidan yang berpotensi mendukung pengendalian DM sebagai terapi pendamping. Namun, pemanfaatannya di masyarakat masih belum optimal karena keterbatasan pengetahuan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kapasitas kader kesehatan mengenai pencegahan dan penanganan DM melalui edukasi dan pelatihan pengolahan Moringa oleifera. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Mei–Juli 2026 di Kelurahan Bandar Lor, Kota Kediri, dengan melibatkan 50 kader kesehatan. Metode kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan one-group pretest-posttest, meliputi edukasi, diskusi, pelatihan, demonstrasi pengolahan daun kelor menjadi produk pangan, serta evaluasi pengetahuan menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan kader setelah kegiatan. Pada pretest, sebanyak 39 dari 50 kader (78%) memiliki pengetahuan rendah, sedangkan pada posttest sebanyak 44 dari 50 kader (88%) memiliki pengetahuan tinggi. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa edukasi dan demonstrasi pengolahan Moringa oleifera dapat meningkatkan pemahaman kader mengenai pemanfaatan daun kelor sebagai terapi pendamping dalam pencegahan dan pengendalian DM. Kegiatan ini diharapkan memperkuat peran kader sebagai agen edukasi kesehatan dan mendorong pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal secara tepat di masyarakat.
