Copyright
Authors who publish with MEDICA (International Medical Scientific Journal) retain the copyright ownership of their work. Copyright is not transferred to MEDICA or its publisher. Authors remain the legal copyright holders of their published articles, subject to the terms of the applicable open-access license.
Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license permits users to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the published work for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and MEDICA, a link to the license is provided, and any modifications are indicated. Adapted material must be distributed under the same license.
Authors grant MEDICA a non-exclusive right of first publication, allowing the journal to publish and disseminate the article as its original publication. This arrangement does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the journal or its publisher.
Authors may share, distribute, and archive the published version of record immediately after publication without an embargo, provided that the original publication in MEDICA is properly acknowledged and the applicable Creative Commons license terms are followed. Authors are encouraged to include the article's DOI or permanent publication URL whenever available.
Third-party materials included in a manuscript, such as figures, tables, photographs, or other copyrighted content, must be properly attributed and used with permission when required. Such materials may be subject to separate copyright or licensing terms and may not automatically be covered by the article's Creative Commons license.
By submitting a manuscript to MEDICA, authors confirm that they have the authority to grant the publication rights described in this policy and that the manuscript does not infringe upon the copyright or other legal rights of third parties.
Important: Authors retain copyright ownership of their work and grant MEDICA a non-exclusive right of first publication. All published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), subject to the license terms and any applicable exceptions for third-party materials.
