Various policies to overcome the spread of Covid 19 were carried out by the government to achieve a healthy community. The COVID-19 pandemic has hampered many things, including early screening for cervical cancer, while data on cervical cancer is the highest cause of maternal mortality. Pro-active action to prevent cervical cancer through early detection of pre-cancerous lesions using the IVA method in women of reproductive age by implementing health protocols, such as wearing masks, implementing physical distancing, using personal protective equipment by the medical team and conducting rapid screening tests. The purpose of this service is to increase knowledge and awareness of women of childbearing age about cervical cancer disease and prevention, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, appropriately and effectively and to be able to reduce the risk of cervical cancer through the IVA test. The method used in this activity is to provide counseling on early detection of cervical cancer and conduct an IVA test at BPM Idaria Hospital Medan Estate Deli Serdang Regency. The result of this service is to increase awareness of women of childbearing age to carry out early cervical cancer screening through counseling about the IVA test and continued with the examination by implementing health protocols. It is hoped that after counseling and carrying out an IVA test, every woman of childbearing age can carry out an IVA test on an ongoing basis so that cervical cancer can be detected early.
Berbagai kebijakan untuk mengatasi penularan Covid 19 dilakukan pemerintah untuk mencapai masyarakat sehat. Pandemi Covid 19 menghambat banyak hal, termasuk pemeriksaan dini kanker serviks, sementara secara data kanker serviks merupakan penyebab tertinggi angka kematian pada ibu. Tindakan pro-aktif untuk mencegah kanker serviks melalui deteksi dini lesi pra-kanker menggunakan metode IVA pada wanita usia reproduksi dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan, seperti menggunakan masker, menerapkan physical distancing, penggunaan alat pelindung diri oleh tim medis dan melakukan skrining rapid test. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran wanita usia subur tentang penyakit dan pencegahan kanker serviks khususnya pada masa pandemi Covid-19 secara tepat dan efektif serta mampu menurunkan risiko kanker serviks melalui pemeriksaan IVA test. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah dengan memberikan penyuluhan deteksi dini kanker serviks dan dilakukannya pemeriksaan IVA test di BPM Idaria RS Medan Estate Kabupaten Deli Serdang sebanyak 31 peserta ibu Wanita usia subur. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan kesadaran wanita usia subur untuk melakukan pemeriksaan dini kanker serviks melalui penyuluhan tentang IVA test dan dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaannya dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan. Diharapkan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan dan pelaksanaan pemeriksaan IVA test setiap wanita usia subur dapat melakukan IVA test secara berkelanjutan sehingga secara dini kanker serviks dapat diketahui sejak dini.
